What is
a Virtual Private Server (VPS)?
A VPS is
an embedded computer server within a
larger real server. vpsXtra uses openVZ
virtualization to create these servers
which appear and operate as if they are
a real physical server. Virtualization
is an excellent way to deploy internet
applications with performance and energy
efficiencies.
Do I
need a Virtual Server?
A virtual
server is perfect for any Internet
applications that demand
high-performance and greater control
over shared-hosting solutions. A
virtualized server also offers many
benefits over a physical dedicated
server due to lower cost and high
efficiency.
Can I
upgrade (or downgrade) in the future?
Yes! One
of the luxuries of virtualization is
that you can easily scale resources,
simply contact us if you need to change
plan.
What
happens if I go over my bandwidth
allowance?
We will
contact you and discuss options
available to you when you are approach
your data allowance. In most cases we
can simply upgrade your plan, and in the
worst case we will charge you for
overage at $0.30/GB.
I
killed my server! Can I reboot or reload
it?
Yes! You
can use our HyperVM web-based server
portal to instantly reboot your server.
We can reload your server entirely at no
charge at your control panel.
Can I
get extra IP addresses?
Yes!
Extra IP addresses are available at
$2/IP with justification.
Do you
provide backups?
Our
servers use disk mirroring to provide
some level of protection against
hardware-failure data loss. However you
are ultimately responsible for your own
backups. We can provide periodic backups
at a cost if you would like us to take
care of this for you, contact sales for
further info.
Can I
resell web space on my server?
Yes! You
are free to use your server as you like.
We also offer cPanel that streamline
multi-user management.
I have
an unanswered question!
No
problem, contact us and we shall get
back to your ASAP.
